Translation:
Oh ShivE! Bhavaani! You charm the nectar like bliss. You cause the rain and you are worshipped by Shiva and others.

You protect Vishnu and others and you are the mother of prosperous Guruguha. You are of the form of knowledge and dwell in the heart of those steeped in bliss. You are the compassionate one. I meditate on you always to shower heavy rain at once. Please send rain more and more abundantly.

Muthuswamy Dikshitar - Take a bow!

It's beautiful. Closest to this is Raag Maru Bihag in Hindustani. But, I admit, Amrutavarshini is exclusive to Carnatic alone. Wins hands down. :)

Pls listen to the Sreevalsan Menon version of this in Monsoon Anuraga album (with awesome piano & violin interludes) yet the purity of the original song is untarnished.

Hi Akarsh, is this your rendition? It's very nice! Despite the fact that you comment on my blog regularly, I'd never been aware of this blog. Came here through a friend's today. Very nice voice and control! Keep posting more. Whom is the arrangement by? Did this appear in any album?

@Haddock: All the credit goes to the raaga lakshanam i think.

@Sindhuja: Ayyo! This is not my rendition. If i can really sing this way, I would have been somewhere else. This is by Sreenivasan Menon, from an album called "Monsoon Anuraaga". The arrangements are also by him. I just love it too much that I have put this up here.
